Nutritional Coaching

80% of our immune system is in our digestive tract. That means that what we put into our bodies far outweigh any other stressor, like illness, fractures, stress or breaks. While there are countless reasons for us to eat better, the first and quite possibly the most important, is physical wellbeing.

Viruses release from our cells when we eat sugar. We can get acne breakouts from our body’s inability to effectively breakdown yeast. Most skin issues can be directly traced back to digestive issues, such as poor bile salts in the gallbladder or not enough enzymes to handle a bad oil.

I’ve even seen joint pain being directly caused from lack of digestive enzymes.

So if you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired, then a good place to start is with some nutritional coaching.

What is a Nutritional Coaching Session?

It is not easy to make large diet changes. Each person is unique and move at their own speed. That is why I use the one area at a time rule, which focuses on slowly cutting out the less desirable food items and replacing them with their healthier counterparts.

However, we can move as fast as you, your mind and body will allow. I will say though, that my experience has taught me that small changes over a long period of time create long standing changes that last a lifetime.

The initial nutritional coaching session lasts about 45 minutes and includes:

  • Identifying possible food sensitivities
  • Discussing current diet needs
  • Establishing healthy food guidelines according to your goals

The subsequent nutritional coaching sessions last about 25 minutes and include:

  • Reviewing your food diary to address diet recommendations and changes
  • Monitoring your current activity through a workout diary
  • Discussing one of the eleven Nutrition Health Topics
  • Answering any questions and concerns

Most people establish stable eating habits within twelve to fourteen sessions.
